After that Long Meeting, We Will Return to Our Adjourning Rooms

Makes sense, right? When the meeting is adjourned, that's when folks get the opportunity to return to their adjourning rooms?

Adjourning...to defer or postpone to a further time...Adjoining rooms...a hotel room that shares a wall with another hotel room. I can say it three times and click my heels, and I still can't make sense of it...or maybe I can (that's what is so scary)

I Will be Glad When You Get Tender, Professor!

One of my colleagues just called me and said that a student told him that she "will be glad when he gets tender"!

Now, he does have quite a reputation for being a tough Professor, but I think it's gonna be awhile till he gets "tender"! However, when he does get "tenure", that student will be the first to know!

I am a firm believer of proofreading. Proofreading becomes especially relevant when we post signs, posters, or any message to be viewed by the masses. This sign to the left was put together by a high school.

"Spring Brake"?? Really?? Sign poster, you need to be sent to detention where you will write the words "break" and "brake" 100 times and use each word in a sentence. Ok, well maybe that's too harsh...let's just say they should stay away from signs!!!!
