If you had to read this Blog title more than once, you are an Ignorantic. This blog title is what I affectionately refer to as Ignorantic Alliteration.
Don't despair...Acceptance is the first step in admitting you are an Ignorantic, and it is a step in the right direction that this self-awakening is happening at the very beginning of the year...
For 2011, make "Google" your best friend and the homepage on your Internet Explorer. It will save your life.
Ignorantics is speech, written and oral, derived from ignorance and the act of expression is the "antics". This blog is dedicated to the Ignorantics who are casual and chronic offenders. In this blog, I will share stories and commentary about individuals who find themselves in either of these categories. I would also like to inform my readers that all of the stories that I share on this Blog are “REAL” stories but the names of the Ignorantics have been changed to protect the ignorant! © 2010-19.

But, I wonder is their a way to tell your friends when the words are wrong? Bad punctuation and misplaced homophones hurt my eyes even before I was in the classroom, commas where periods should be hurt too.
ReplyDeleteI can't go on. If anyone knows of ways to handle this, please post!
...and social networking brings out the absolute worst in Ignorantics! Those of us who know better are completely out-numbered! The only way to cure the Ignorantic is to "CALL 'EM OUT"! Straight up in your face correction is the best medicine. It is a bitter pill to swallow but it will make them feel better in the long run. I also suggest "Google"; it is the Ignorantic's spellcheck. It will immediately tell them if they are wrong (after typing the Ignorantic search term) by saying "Did you mean...?" Aletha, trust me...I feel your pain; when will they ever learn?
ReplyDeleteHey Judy,
ReplyDeleteNatalie had a former co-worker who had a different version of this word that she said with verve....reillerate....huh! As in, 'let me reillerate what I was saying'...This a manager in front of a room full of associates! Nat said she'd get a chill down her spine every time she said it....And she said it in bunches. LOL.
Dwayne
Now that is WRONG!!!!!! The major offenders are people in positions of power and influence, like a supervisor, CEO, etc. I have some Ignorantics in the tank that will surely cause pain and backache for 2011 and beyond...but "reillerate" has to go into the tank...thanks to Nat (through you) for sharing!
ReplyDeleteReally, I'm too old to be part of that 'Just Because it Sounds Right, Doesn't Make it Write!' generation, but, truth b told, I lyke it, LOL. Now that I'm starting grad school, I've got to de-program all this n "dat" crap and go back to being educated.
ReplyDeleteBe careful Goddezz...grad school is where the skillful Ignorantics live! ...and the PhDs are beginning to lead the pack! Thanks for reading...Happy New Year!
